Big Truck Meet Up
It’s that time of year again…the May 24 long-weekend. For most Canadians that means beers and BBQs and quick google search to see just what Victoria’s Secrets has to do with the holiday. (Answer: nothing. It was created in honour of Queen Victoria.)
In Capreol we have another option. A big option. This Saturday is the annual Big Truck Meet Up at the Northern Ontario Railway Museum and Heritage Centre. Heavy equipment of all sorts will be on display showcasing some of the truly massive machines that call our region home. Kid-friendly, and free of charge, this event is a must-see for families. Give your little one a chance to climb aboard and see what life looks like from the cab of a truck. And of course there’s all the trains to see too!
This year there is special guest, Optimus Prime. That’s right, the leader of the Autobots—famed in the Transformer movies, TV, comic books, video games, and action figures—will be in town. Or rather an amazing, fan-built, replica of the colourful transport truck will.
So come out to Capreol May 18 and see what all is happening. There’s a lot to take in.
